Where I Come From.

 Where I come from

Gedichte über die eigene Herkunft

(1)

Where I come from

I come from new homes turned into war

I come from packing and unpacking my bags

I come from hoping for peace

I come from the taste of home in every “varenik”

I come from late evening talks with screen light

I come from night walks with her under the moonlight

and the sound of sirens

A.K. (WK1)

(2)

I come from the country of football

I come from rice, beans and loud street markets

I come from backyard hammocks and the smell of fresh coffee

I come from the green of forests that refuse to die

I come from samba beats echoing in warm nights

I come from hugs tighter than words can say

C.A. (WK1)
